A Veteran is a person – whether on active duty or discharged, retired or reserve – who at one point of her/his life wrote a will to the people and gave up his/her last breath for freedom of country.
Veteran will die and say” I am a soldier reporting to duty. I have served my time in hell for my people’s freedom”. That is honor we need to remember.
Today, there are so many people who no longer understand or remember that fact. Not many can understand to be a group of soldiers and write your own will on the sand and ask the wind to deliver the message to their people.
Let us unite and create an ”Eritrean Veterans’ Day”
Let us honor those Eritrean Veterans who will never feel the land of Eritrea beneath their feet
